I received a sampler copy of the epilogue and the first 3 chapters through NetGalley。 I really enjoyed these few chapters of The Stolen Heir and cannot wait to read the entire book。 Having been a fan of Holly Black’s books for a few years now, I am absolutely thrilled to read what happens next in this book!

*Thank you so much to HotKey for gifting me an early copy of this book!*I was so worried when I started reading this book, because for the first 100 pages or so I absolutely couldn’t connect with it in the way I immediately connected to and engaged with The Cruel Prince。 It began quite slowly, and the characters initially for me had no draw to them。 The more I read though, the more Holly Blacks classic, whimsical, fantasy charm came to life。 Low and behold, I really enjoyed this book。I’d say it’ *Thank you so much to HotKey for gifting me an early copy of this book!*I was so worried when I started reading this book, because for the first 100 pages or so I absolutely couldn’t connect with it in the way I immediately connected to and engaged with The Cruel Prince。 It began quite slowly, and the characters initially for me had no draw to them。 The more I read though, the more Holly Blacks classic, whimsical, fantasy charm came to life。 Low and behold, I really enjoyed this book。I’d say it’s worth rereading a bit of TCP before reading this, because it does a make a lot of references to the previous books and honestly the worldbuilding is minimal - it really relies on you having that previous knowledge。 I was a bit rusty since it’s been a while, but I managed to follow and pick it all up and catch up with what was happening pretty quickly though。 It was well written, had consistently good pacing, and a really enjoyable storyline。I really liked Oak and Suren, and they made the entire book。 What can I say, I’m a simple girl and I like nothing more than a silly little romance between two very headstrong, stubborn characters。 They had really great history and I liked the little flashback scenes in here, it really showed how compatible they were not only as friends, but working together and then as lovers。 It had a brilliant set up for a relationship, you know it’s going to be a good, tense, tough ride to a happily ever efter when Holly Black is involved, but the journey is always so heartwrenchingly worth it。After around the 60% mark this book was crazy, mind you。 I was unprepared for how juicy and scandalous the plot would get, I could not see all of the betrayals, plot twists, and backstabbing coming but it was so relentless。 Painful, but oh so enjoyable。 I literally devoured the last half of this and it was a big mistake because now it’s an awfully long wait for the next installment。 I NEED that sequel I was so invested。The only thing I will not be forgiving is the equivalent of Cardans tail being that fact that Oak has… I don’t wanna spoil it but it’s unforgivable。 I will be once again be pretending it doesn’t exist。 。。。more

I forgot how much I loved the cruel prince but this 68 pages not only reminded me, but completely ensnared me。 oak and Suren being miniature Jude and cardan was SO FREAKING CUTE and I absolutely can't wait to learn more about their relationship (and surel's biting obsession)one of the things I loved most about the tcp series, and Holly's other books is her writing and this did not disappoint。 it was lush and evocative, and just the first few paragraphs took me away from my warm place on the sofa I forgot how much I loved the cruel prince but this 68 pages not only reminded me, but completely ensnared me。 oak and Suren being miniature Jude and cardan was SO FREAKING CUTE and I absolutely can't wait to learn more about their relationship (and surel's biting obsession)one of the things I loved most about the tcp series, and Holly's other books is her writing and this did not disappoint。 it was lush and evocative, and just the first few paragraphs took me away from my warm place on the sofa and into the dangerous world of Elfhame。 which is good。 I think。 overall- I CAN'T WAIT :) 。。。more

This was an incredible first three chapters。 I’ve never read Holly Black before, and I really want to read the complete book。 As a reader, you are thrown straight into this beautifully crafted world, and yet, it’s fully accessible and explained with intricate descriptions。 I felt Wren’s emotions, It’s a really immersive read。 Huge thank you to the publisher for this gorgeous ARC via NetGalley。

I read the Folk of the Air series and loved it, an exciting dark fantasy。 This is the sampler of a new book set in that world and it's intriguing and I cannot wait to read the rest。What I read it very dark, twisty and promise to be a great story, can't wait to read the rest。Highly recommended I read the Folk of the Air series and loved it, an exciting dark fantasy。 This is the sampler of a new book set in that world and it's intriguing and I cannot wait to read the rest。What I read it very dark, twisty and promise to be a great story, can't wait to read the rest。Highly recommended 。。。more

God。 What to say? Look。 First off, I loved Queen of Nothing until the last 75ish pages and the epilogue。 But the book and the series on the whole was magnificent。I love the Stolen Heir and wish it was more than a duology。 The throwbacks/Easter eggs to the Folk of the Air, the new characters, and everything The Stolen Heir sets-up are magnificent。 The fantasy writing we know and love is only bettered by the twists and shockers thrown。Holly Black came back with no fuck bucks to give for any soft h God。 What to say? Holly Black ripping my heart out with the prologue alone。 the whole book might just kill me。Wren ilysm already<3 making me cry like that。 we’ll see if you can usurp Jude but idk。 while Oak has horns so all the girlies who are whores for Carden’s tail have no fear。 thank you to NetGalley for the sneak peek!

Just read the extract and I'm hoping we get at least some chapters from Oak's POV。 But I loved Suren in The Queen Of Nothing despite her not being a prominent character and I can't think of a better protagonist to have her own duology set in this world。 Just read the extract and I'm hoping we get at least some chapters from Oak's POV。 But I loved Suren in The Queen Of Nothing despite her not being a prominent character and I can't think of a better protagonist to have her own duology set in this world。 。。。more
